The Yoshi franchise is a spin-off of the Mario franchise. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is usually considered the first entry in the series, though some titles such as Yoshi on the NES came beforehand. It is estimated that the main series has sold about 23.97 million copies all together (including spin offs).
