Street Fighter is one of the best selling franchises, and it is owned by Capcom. There are over 80 titles in this series. The series has sold 45.88 million software units for home systems.[n 1] It has also sold over 500,000 coin-op hardware units for arcades, including over 300,000 arcade units of Street Fighter II.

It is Capcom's highest-grossing franchise, and one of the highest-grossing franchises of all time, having grossed over $12 billion ($26 billion inflation-adjusted). In terms of software sales, it is Capcom's third best-selling software franchise, behind Resident Evil and Monster Hunter. Street Fighter is also one of the best-selling fighting game franchises, and the highest-grossing fighting game franchise.

The best-selling game in the franchise is Street Fighter II. It is also one of the highest-grossing games of all time.

The Street Fighter films have also grossed more than $200 million worldwide. This makes it Capcom's second highest-grossing film franchise, after Resident Evil.

The game grossed £260 million per year (£520 million over two years) in the United Kingdom, which accounts for about 1/5 of the game's worldwide revenue.[7] This gives a total worldwide revenue of about £2.6 billion ($5.11 billion)[8] for two years, from 1991 to 1993. The game went on to sell a total of over 60,000 arcade units worldwide.[9]
