The Pokémon Company is a holding company managing the rights of the Pokémon series and marketing the franchise. It was created in 1998 as a joint venture between Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures. They publish the games in Japan as well as mobile apps worldwide. They also manage the trading card game, the cartoon television series, films and other Pokémon products. It has different divisions to handle their brand in international territories, including Pokémon Company International for countries outside of Asia and Pokémon Korea for South Korea.
