The 'PlayStation Vita is a video game handheld by Sony that competed in the eighth generations of video game consoles. It is successor to the PlayStation Portable with a similar form factor. It debuted in 2011 to mild acclaim competing with the Nintendo 3DS. The Vita also go a few revisions including a console variation called the PlayStation TV. The handheld then went on to be one of the worst performing game devices with it being discontinued in 2019

The system shipped 4 million as of the end of 2012[2]. However, due to the system's poor performance, Sony did not reveal any more shipment data. Game analysts estimated the system sold 10 million as of 2015 but, it is unclear of how well it did after that.
