Console hardware was up by 3% but, portable hardware dropped from the lack of a title to replace Super Smash Bros. that brought hardware overall down. When only counting the Xbox One and Playstation 4, the platforms increased by 12%. Bundles represented 96% of unit sales for the month, up from 53% in 2014.

In terms of software, Halo 5 took the top position. However, software ultimately declined since the other new launches were less impressive with new launches declining by 4%. Rock Band and Guitar Hero both returned at 10th and 11th respectively but, when counting by revenue, they would be 4th and 6th. Additionally, Super Mario Maker would have ranked at 10th if this was a SKU based list. Accessories were driven up the addition of LEGO Dimensions along with the launch of Yoshi amiibo.
