This the NPD data for November 2022, which covers the sales for United States for the period of October 30 through November 26, 2022. The gaming industry generated $6.286 billion.

Overall

A total of $1,254 million for Hardware. This is up 45% from 2021. For video game content, there was a total of $4.742 billion, down 5% from from 2021. For Accessories, there was a total of $289 million, up 10% from 2021.

In terms of hardware, sales were up nearly 50%, primarily due to Playstation 5 sales. The Playstation 5 was the best-selling platform in terms of both unit and dollar sales with the Switch in second in both metrics. The Playstation 5 is the best-selling hardware in year-to-date dollars while the Switch is best-selling hardware in year-to-date units.

In terms of software, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 takes the top position for the second month in the row and becomes the top selling game of the year from Elden Ring. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales returned to the top 20 with the PC version release. A number of titles return to the top 20 due to Black Friday price promotions. For mobile, the market was largely driven by Casino games. The week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday was down from 2021 by 5%.
