Overall[]

A total of $1.12 billion for Hardware. This is up 11% from 2014. For software, there was a total of $993.9 million, down 7% from 2014. For Accessories, there was a total of $357.7 million, up 6% from 2014.

In terms of hardware, Playstation 4 was the top-selling console. Xbox One had its strongest November yet. The combined eighth generation console hardware had its biggest month yet, surpassing both November and December 2014. The combined sales for PS4 and Xbox One are 47% higher than the combined sales for the aligned 25 months of PS3 and Xbox 360 hardware sales. Hardware sales were hindered by the 76% decline in last generation hardware significantly higher than the rest of the year's decline of 57%.

In terms of software, Call of Duty again topped the charts, exceeding the performance of last year's Advanced Warfare. It was the largest launch of any title since 2013, based on unit sales. The month overall was the best software for eighth generation platforms, exceed December by 34%. Fallout 4 had the best launch in the franchise, exceed New Vegas's launch by 70% in units and Fallout 3 by 9% when adjusting for days in the tracking period. Star Wars: Battlefront also launched well, beating every other Star Wars game launch month. It was up from Star Wars: Force Unleashed by 21%. Nintendo also announced that there have been 11 million amiibo figures sold.
