Overall[]
A total of $292.7 million for Hardware. This is up 106% from 2013. For software, there was a total of $286.8 million, down 3% from from 2013. There is a further $11.3 million for retail PC software, down 36% from 2013. For Accessories, there was a total of $156.9 million, up 1% from 2013.
In terms of hardware, the Playstation 4 leads the month for the sixth month in a row despite the Xbox One price cut. The Xbox One's sales did double fro the previous month. The Playstation 4 and Xbox One's combined sales are 80% above their predecessor's aligned total thus far.
In terms of software, software was weaker as titles that launched the previous month led the month. Nintendo announced that Mario Kart 8 had sold 470,000 for the month bringing the lifetime total to 885,000. The only new titles this month in the ranking were UFC and Tomodachi Life with the latter selling 175,000 according to Nintendo.
