A total of $127.1 million for Hardware. This is down 19% from January 2016. For Accessories, there was a total of $155 million, down 17% from 2016. For console software, there was a total of $312.5 million, up 14% from 2016. For PC software, there was a total of $16.1 million, down 12% from 2016.

The Playstation 4 continued to be the top-selling system, with the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Bundle being the top selling console for the fourth month in a row. According to Microsoft, the Xbox On had its best January at this point.

Resident Evil 7 is the first time since March 2009 that Capcom has topped the best selling games list. In comparison to January 2016 top 5 best selling games, January 2017's top 5 represented 17% higher spending with the majority of that growth due to Resident Evil 7
