This the NPD data for February 2013, which covers the sales for United States. The gaming industry generated $810 million[1].

Overall[]

A total of $244.2 million for Hardware. This is down 36% from 2012. For software, there was a total of $352 million, down 27% from from 2012. For Accessories, there was a total of $213.8 million.

In terms of hardware, Xbox 360 leads in terms of units, selling 302,000 units. The Wii U and Playstation Vita held momentum, increasing by 40% and 30% respectively from January. The Wii U had the ZombiU Bundle launch.

In terms of software, Dead Space 3 led the chart, selling over 600,000 units. New releases like Crysis 3, Metal Gear Rising and Aliens: Colonial Marines also charted. Fire Emblem Awakening failed to chart though Nintendo reported it sold 180,000 units between retail, digital and the special 3DS bundle.
