A total of $1.24 million for Hardware. This is down 6% from 2014. For software, there was a total of $1.21 million, down 3% from 2014. PC retail software additionally dropped to $20 million. For Accessories, there was a total of $761.7 million, up 10% from 2014.
In terms of hardware, the Playstation 4 was the top platform followed by the Xbox One. The combined cumulative sales of Xbox One and Playstation 4 are up by 47% from the 26 month total of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The decrease was driven by the 71% decrease from seventh generation hardware and the 32% decrease in portable hardware. This month was the biggest month for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 in terms of unit sales.
In terms of software, the eighth generation console software increased by 48% from last December while portables are the main source of the decline, decreasing by 40% with weaker holiday titles. New launches were up by 111%, driven by Rainbow Six Siege and Just Cause 3. The month was the best for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One and the second-best for the Wii U in terms of Physical Software. The November games however had a weaker December than November launches had last December. Call of Duty: Black Ops III topped the charts again with growth relative to Advanced Warfare. The new Star Wars movie seems to have drove Star Wars: Battle front sales leading it to increase from launch month and move up a rank. Fallout 4 has had to second best Bethesda launch over the first two months, only behind The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. For eight generation consoles, Fallout 4 is the best-selling role-playing game.
