Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo was the first release of a new franchise. 10.85 million units were sold worldwide, 3.99 million in America and 2.55 million in Japan.
Gran Turismo 2
Gran Turismo 2 sold over a million units less then the first release. The sells in America were nearly constant, but Japans sales fell to 1.71 million.
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec was the first GT on the PlayStation 2 and sold pretty well. Sales in America increased over 80% compared to GT2, only Japan fell short with an increase of only 180,000.
Gran Turismo 4
Gran Turismo 4 sales went into different directions depending on the area. In America and Japan, the sales dropped down heavily under those of GT2. In the rest of the world it managed to sell 640,000 units more than GT3. Even though it was the most successful game in the other regions, overall the sales fell by over 3 million compared to GT3 due to the drop in America.
Gran Turismo 5
Gran Turismo 5 was released 5 years after GT4. In November 2010, the game sold 10 million units as of 2013.[6]
