Electronic Arts (EA) is the second largest game publisher in the world, behind only Nintendo. EA owns studios around the world and properties that have sold millions. The company was founded in 1982, and eventually gained mainstream success on the Sega Mega Drive with sports franchises such as Madden and FIFA in the early 1990s. They are also known for The Sims series. Through the 2000s, they became known for their aggressive acquisitions. Now, EA is one of the largest brands with exclusive licenses such as the NFL, Star Wars and UFC.
