In 1975, the video game industry declined following the late 1974 crash. The "paddle game" trend came to an end in arcades around 1975, with the arcade video game industry entering a period of stagnation in the "post paddle game era" over the next several years up until 1977.[ 1] However, video games began showing signs of recovery in late 1975, with the release of new arcade titles such as Western Gun (Gun Fight )[ 2] and the arrival of Pong clone consoles .
The year's highest-grossing electronic game is Taito 's arcade racing game Speed Race (released as Wheels and Racer in North America ), the second time for a video game . The year's best-selling home system is Atari 's Home Pong , a dedicated first-generation console .

↑ 2.0 2.1 2.2 In Japan, between 500,000–700,000 arcade machines were on location by 1973.[ 97] By 1972, Japan's largest arcade game manufacturer was Sega , followed by Taito and then Namco .[ 98] Each arcade game from Kasco typically shipped about 1,000 units in a year.[ 99] Each arcade game from Sega, Taito, Namco and Kasco is thus estimated to have sold at least 1,000 units.
By 1975, there were 24,858 medal games operating in Japan.[ 100]
